Abstract
The present invention relates to a cooling extender for South American camelid semen and its manufacturing process. In particular, it relates to a composition characterized by comprising: citric acid monohydrate 0.112 g, trisaminomethane (TRIS) 0.2168 g, fructose powder 0.08 g, 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-N-oxyl 100 µL, gentamicin 5000 µL, lyophilized egg yolk 0.2 g, and casein 0.08 g. Furthermore, it refers to a process for the preparation of the diluent characterized in that it comprises: a) receiving citric acid monohydrate, trisaminomethane (TRIS), fructose powder, 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-N-oxyl, gentamicin, lyophilized egg yolk and casein; b) in 4000 µL of distilled water place trisaminomethane (TRIS) (31.47%), citric acid monohydrate (16.26%), fructose (11.61%), lyophilized egg yolk (29.04%) and casein (11.61%); c) mix until everything is well diluted; d) to the mixture add 5000 µL (98.04%) of gentamicin; e) mix until everything is well diluted; f) in the dark, add 100 µL (1.96%) of 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-N-oxyl and homogenize; and g) top up to 10 ml with distilled water and refrigerate between 5 and 15°C until use.
