Abstract

Objective To evaluate the existing literature on acrylamide (AA) and cancer by scientometric mapping. Materials and Methods: Papers were selected from the Scopus database containing terms related to AA and cancer in the title or abstract and published between 2018 and 2023. All available document types were included, excluding retracted documents. The collected data were imported into Bibliometrix, where cleaning and preprocessing operations were performed, followed by bibliometric analysis. Results: A total of 632 sources were identified, producing 1057 documents, with an annual growth rate of 6%. The average age of the documents was 3.39 years, and each document received an average of 14.1 citations. A total of 3227 author keywords were identified, and 5143 authors contributed to these papers, with an international co-authorship rate of 21.38%. The thematic evolution of the literature revealed various topics and keywords from 2020 to 2023. The countries of the corresponding authors showed global distribution, with China leading in terms of the number of papers. According to Lotka’s Law, most authors contributed a single paper. Conclusion: This study provided a comprehensive overview of the literature on AA and cancer, highlighting the diversity and breadth of research in this field. The results reflect the wide range of research conducted on AA and cancer during this period and suggest a high degree of international research collaboration.
