Psychometric Properties of the University Teaching Motivation Questionnaire in the Peruvian Population

Abstract
Teacher motivation is the impulse or enthusiasm that leads someone to achieve a goal for the benefit of their students. The approach of this study is quantitative, non-experimental, instrumental, and cross-sectional. Its objective is to evaluate the psychometric properties of the University Teaching Motivation Questionnaire (CMDU), for which a sample of 246 professors from a private university in Lima was accessed, of which 122 are women (49.6%) and 124 men (50.4%) between the ages of 26 and 78 years. In the TFA, a four-factor structure is observed that allows it to fit the model X2/gl=1.081, CFI and TLI=.99, SRMR=.060 RMSA=.018. Content, construct validity and reliability were performed α=.943 and ω=.943. In conclusion, the CMDU has the potential to measure motivation in university professors, since it has the appropriate psychometric properties.
