Abstract

The inclusion of women in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is one of the essential factors to achieve gender equality and thus ensure that global challenges are addressed more effectively. Women are often underrepresented in STEM fields, resulting in a significant loss of talent and perspectives. In addition, the lack of diversity in the analyzes carried out in these fields can lead to incomplete solutions or even to erroneous decisions that do not take into account the needs and suspicions of the population. The inclusion of women in STEM is especially important because this way the next generation of women can be inspired and motivated to pursue careers in these fields. Having more female role models can help change the perception that STEM fields are only for men, and can foster a more inclusive and diverse environment. In addition, it should be noted that various studies have shown that the most innovative and effective mixed work teams. On the other hand, the lack of a more effective inclusion of women in STEM not only harms gender equality, but also has economic consequences. The lack of participation of women in these fields means that valuable opportunities for economic growth and innovation are lost. According to a report by UNESCO, closing the gender gap in STEM could increase global GDP by up to 2%. The participation of women in STEM fields is crucial to achieve gender equality and to address global challenges effectively, from various points of view. By including more women in STEM, you can foster innovation, economic growth, and a diversity of perspectives, as well as be a source of inspiration for the next generation of women driven to pursue careers in these fields.
