Abstract

Several studies point out that coastal wetlands are great carbon sinks; in this sense, the carbon stored in the Pantanos de Villa Ramsar wetland (Lima, Peru) was estimated, finding out, that it can store 2.21x10-5 petagrams of carbon, equivalent to 8.12 x10-5 petagrams of carbon dioxide sequestered.
