N2 - Currently, manufacturing companies continuously present delays due to the excessive accumulation of unnecessary materials and the lack of cleanliness generates failures in the machinery, in addition, they do not have norms that standardize the processes of classification and order. For this reason, the main objective of this research is to analyze the application of the 5S methodology in automotive manufacturing companies, 2023. Therefore, techniques or tools that help to improve the fluidity of their operational activities are sought. Likewise, the present work is of a basic type and comprises a qualitative approach, also the design is non-experimental and has a descriptive level, it is also emphasized that it is a case study, therefore, the technique used was the semi-structured interviews and the instrument was the guide of questions. The results obtained prove the usefulness of the 5S method to improve operational processes. In the first stage, which is the classification, a reduction of unproductive times was achieved, which has a positive impact on productivity. The order allowed greater accessibility of the tools, thus reducing errors. Cleanliness provided evidence of machinery failures and reduced labor risks, creating a safe workspace. Regarding standardization, norms were established for greater control, making the processes more efficient. In the last stage, which is discipline, the operators generated habits and an organizational culture focused on continuous improvement. In summary, the 5S methodology is a versatile and economical continuous improvement tool that brings several benefits to companies from the beginning of the implementation, since it allows to have a more dynamic development of activities focused on operational excellence and competitiveness in the business market.
