Abstract

The objective of this article is to address some arguments from J. Rancière's philosophy related to the need to rethink communism. The working hypothesis insists on pointing out that Rancière does not defend any communist project. This is for at least three reasons: there is no equality of intelligence, the communist serves as an explanatory teacher in order to raise awareness among the brutalized, communism belongs to a teleological historical temporality, which in turn implies a postponement of emancipation. Finally, we close this dialogue with the present possibilities of this other way of conceiving equality and emancipation.
