Abstract
The aim of this article is to problematize the relationship between Althusser and Foucault based on the notions of ideological apparatus and device of power. First, it analyzes the links that Althusser develops between the apparatus, the subject and the social struggle. Secondly, it visits Foucault's work to identify three issues: the positive uses of the term ideology, the subsequent criticisms of this notion and, above all, the concepts that replace it to think about power, the subject and resistance. Finally, paper argues about the conceptual convergence between Althusser and Foucault where not only an affinity is visible, but also a coherence that would make their theoretical inventions coextensive and complementary tools.
